A published artist and writer, she draws from her experience in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Interactive Environments, Tourism, Physical Activity, Creative Education, Community-Building and Book Publishing to synergize ideas. Inspired by a desire to bridge the divide between digital and natural worlds, Hession co-created the first interactive animal prototype during her post-graduate studies in the intensive and collaborative Interactive Art and Entertainment Program at the CFC Media Lab.


An inter-media artist, producer and researcher, Deborah’s solo and collaborative interactive works have been exhibited in Canada, the United States, Finland, the U.K. France and New Zealand. Participant in the 2005 invitational Innovation Workshop, Building Strong Foundations: The Role of Technology in Supporting Pre-School Learners (NESTA FutureLab, Bristol, UK), Deborah looks to realize interactive toy concepts. She has created and published 4 children’s books, and is publisher of 3 novels for young adults.

 

Previous clients have included: CFC Media Lab, Playdium Entertainment Corporation, Rainforest Café, CNE the Canadian National Exhibition, Joe Rockhead’s Climbing Gym, Parallel Productions, Earthdance International and Heroic Hearts at The Bank of Montreal Wellness Centre.

Deborah currently resides in Toronto.

Faisal Anwar (Toronto) is a NewMedia artist/producer with a diverse background in theatre, experimental puppets, media arts and graphic design. A graduate of The Canadian Film Centre's Habitat-LAB, Interactive Arts and Entertainment Program, he co- founded Action Pact designs and created Into It. Into it! is an interactive Installation, creating an immersive experience from animals' perspective for kids.


Anwar's interests lies in the relationship of fictional narrative, social interaction, edutainment & interactive art/ design. His recent and upcoming projects include; Diplomatic Immunities (experimental theatre), G.O.T.C.H.A (an on-site installation created by using cell phone technology), Odd Spaces (locative newmedia installtion) Suno Kahani (online fairytale stories for kids of South Asian origin), Write Your Own History (site specific new media installation) and a traveling performance piece Zero Cluster - Deportation (a new way to experience music, space and visual)

 

He also founded DGdip, a Newmedia production house working in North America, Europe and South Asia since 2004.

 

Anwar directed 4 short films, ‘Clifton to Saddar’, 2006, (which has been screened at a no. of festivals including shortsnonstop) ‘Gurriya’, 2005, 'I.D check',2003 and 'Its as simple as that', 2000.

Anwar has a bachelors degree in Graphic Design from The National College of Arts, Pakistan. He currently volunteers on the Programming Committee of SAVAC (South Asian Visual Arts Collective) and teaches part-time conceptual design / web design at Centennial College.
